Life as it is....

Good Saturday! School has been out since the 3rd of June.We purchased a giant pool,18X52 to be exact and it has been fun fun fun.Our days go something like this:
  • hubby wakes up,then I,I pack his lunch.Kiss him goodbye :)
  • I like to have quiet time, prayer and reading time.
  • Then a little after 6 ,I wake up my 14 yr old son,he's working with his grandpa for the summer, and when school is in ,he helps him out on most Saturdays.
  • After he leaves, what I've been doing is actually going back to sleep..yup much needed beauty sleep. After a couple of hours, sometimes less, the girls wake up,but it's usually the 5 yr old  first.
  • They are good about getting their own breakfast.i just have to make sure I have food in the house.
  • We do chores. Before school was out,I did a lot of decluttering, and so this has reduced the cleaning time by a lot.Streamlining your home is necessary,in my opinion, and afterwards to really be careful about  what you do bring in the home.Shopping wisely and practicing self control. If not ,we end up back on square one.Plus it helps to have some extra cash in the bank, for things that matter more or those unexpected emergencies.
  • After chores,I let the kids have free time, which usually their first choice is the pool! And family also come over and join the splashing fun.
  • I meanwhile get some other things done,Just trying to keep up.Yesterday ,I finally got to see the floor of the laundry room,I kid  you not.I was in a laundry rut for a good 3 weeks. The last few weeks of school,we got so busy, with so many events, that I didn't have the energy to fully focus on the laundry, but now we're good ,so I'm glad.
  • The kids get hungry, swimming will do that to you,so lunch is something quick, and they eat it outside.play some more,or they come in and either read, watch a movie.
  • bible reading is on our agenda this summer. This week we read the book of Judges and Ruth.Today ,being a Saturday ,we might not read as much, however still,a couple of chapters is better than nothing. Our goal is to not just read the bible, but to comprehend,so each of reads a chapter or two, then a brief summary is given,to  make sure everyone is understanding  of what is happening.
  • then dinner tme rolls around, clean up,load dishwasher, clean table and sweep, tidying up as quickly as possible. If church night ,well then we get dressed for church, and if not, maybe some movie.almost never any television.
  • Then it's bed time.
  • And this is a typical day around here for this lazy summer days.
  • And now I'll pay a visit to one of my sister in law's house, with 6 kiddos to play with .
  • HAve a great day and God bless you~
